He started his career in the year 1971 in a private industry in the state of Gujarat. Later he joined Gujarat State Government service and worked in various departments like Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Forests and Cooperation & Revenue Departments holding key positions.

Realizing that the Government job was limiting him from using his full potential, acumen and zest for achieving the impossible, he moved to Dubai in the year 1980 and joined Chicago Bridge & Iron Co. in their multibillion Dollar project for Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). In the year 1988 he moved to Star Energy, Abu Dhabi as it’s Trading Manager, a position he held till 2002. He was directly involved in the whole gambit of tendering, installation, commissioning and operations of a 700,000 Cubic meter capacity petroleum storage terminal in the Port of Jebel Ali. This terminal, the first of its kind in the Middle East, enabled UAE to project itself as a major hub for petroleum movement in the region.

In the year 1990, he was posted to Singapore to take charge of Star Energy’s trading activities for Far East, Middle East and African markets including Indian Subcontinent. During this 14-year stint with Star Energy he was instrumental in developing several major gasoline blending projects for prestigious clients like Caltex, Singapore & Malaysia and Emarat & Enoc in Dubai in tandem with oil majors like BP, ExxonMobil, Shell etc.

In 2002 he left Star Energy and joined Petroplus International LLC(FZCO) as Trading Manager (East of Suez). In the year 2004 he joined Tropicana as it’s Group Vice President. His rich and varied experience together with his strong work ethics and entrepreneurship skill has made him a great visionary and helped in understanding the complexities involved in resource mobilization, trading and man management.
